Bucket Brigade and A Jacket; Finished Object Friday

q~It all started with the free Craftsy class Bag-Making Basics: Drawstring Bag and Bucket Bag by Kirstin Link. I made a large bucket bag to hold my needle felting supplies. Then, Curls came for a visit bring some of her fabric stash and said we needed smaller bucket bags. I whipped up two smaller bags to use for holding knitting projects. And, although I warn my kids and students not to say “never” I’m going to say it. I HATE making bucket bags and will NEVER make another one! Sewing on that circular bottom is just a PAIN!  I love the bottom I designed and used for my It’s In The Bag projects, which is so easy! Now don’t get me wrong, the bucket bags are really cute, as you can see.

My oldest granddaughter picked out the fleece for her jacket. She has always made a fashion statement. In preschool, she was known for her fashion. Nothing has change at the age of nine. The black buttons were off a coat from my stash. My button stash came from both by sides of  the family, my husband’s and mine. I love using them. I just wish I knew their history.  😎

Don’t forget to visit Tami’s Amis to see other finished objects today.

Those bucket bags are adorable, I bet it was challenging doing that circular sewing. These bags give me an idea. I think I’ll make ‘doll bags’ for my daughter’s Monster High dolls. She’ll have them in once place, and she can tote them around too.

Oh come on now, you know In a while you’ll be making some more of them! 😉 ducks

    Curls,
I love the fleece jacket. I wouldn’t be surprised if other kids starting placing orders with you – if they haven’t done so already!

    • Q – LOL! That’s why I’ve always told my kids and students to say “never” because it usually doesn’t turn out that way. LOL! I actually made a bag with a rectangle bottom for my granddaughter’s dolls. It will be a different post, after I give it to her next week. 😎 We’re heading to Hawaii on Monday.
